Six Months Old

Taylor is six months old now. I say this every month, but I can't believe it! We had her six-month check up yesterday, and here are her stats:

Weight: 13 lbs, 12 oz (10th percentile)

Length: 27 inches (92nd percentile!)

Head Circumference: 17 inches (65th percentile)

Clearly, Taylor had a growth spurt since her last check up. Unfortunately, her weight didn't jump like her length and HC did. Dr. Quinn did not seem too worried, though, so I am not going to worry either. She is a happy, healthy baby, and we'll continue to work to bulk her up!
Taylor is not sitting up by herself yet, but she is almost there. Her hands are active as ever (see Rice Cereal video below), and she puts anything she can grab into her mouth. I don't see any baby teeth yet, but that doesn't mean they're not forming underneath her gums. Tay is becoming a better and better sleeper. She is consistently sleeping through the night, and she loves her naps! Any exhaustion I have is my own fault for staying up too late.
I've posted a lot of pictures below that were taken in the last couple of weeks. It's just about time to buy an external hard drive to store the hundreds of pictures we've taken of our little pumpkin!
Taylor trying to steal some of Daddy's salad.

Yum...

Chillin' in her swing - thank goodness she is liking her swing again - it gives me time to pack boxes.

No signs of crawling yet, but Taylor is learning to push up on her arms.

The exersaucer - another lifesaver while I am packing!

Taylor put a couple of gashes on her nose - I cannot keep up with her constantly growing finger nails! Her hands are SO busy!

Our sweet girl sleeping in her swing with her paci and baby doll.

I love it when she sleeps on my shoulder. Unfortunately, this does not happen much anymore.

Last weekend, we vacationed in Park City, UT with Tommy's college friends Jim & Meghan Dunbar and Alex Dick & Caron Mineo. Jim & Meghan are expecting a little girl in October, so they spent some quality time with Taylor. Below, Jim is fine-tuning his fathering skills. Clearly, he has a ways to go...

Group dinner - There is nothing better than good friends, good food, and good wine while sitting outdoors on a beautiful evening.
We flew home from Utah on Monday, Taylor's half birthday and our anniversary. I realized that Tommy and I have been traveling way too much because Taylor spent her 4th, 5th, and 6th month birthdays on an airplane. Now that we are homeowners (more to come on that later), our travel budget is gone and I am happy to stay put for a while!
Anyways, we started Taylor on rice cereal Monday night. Below she is ready to go!

As you probably saw on the video in my last post, Taylor made a bit of a mess.

Does she like it? Just wait until we start veggies next week!
Last, but not least, is Taylor's monthly picture with Chancey. Getting so big!

Tommy and I closed on our house yesterday. The movers are not coming until next Thursday (7/30), so we using the next week to clean, paint a few rooms, and move dishes and clothes. I am waiting for Taylor to wake up from her morning nap right now, and then we'll head over to the house for a fun-filled day of chores. Jealous? For my first trip over to the house yesterday, the car was loaded with the pack-n-play, bottles, food, diapers, toys, and other things to keep T entertained while we work. This is quite a contrast to my move last year when I had my laptop and blackberry on hand. I still laugh at how much my world has changed! After 8 moves in the past 10 years, I can't tell you how excited I am to get settled. What will I do next year when I don't have to cancel utilities or fill out a change of address form at the post office? This sounds silly, but I am most excited to order a return address stamp with our new address. I've never been able to do this before because I always knew of a pending move. It's the little things, right?
