15 Months

Taylor turned 15-months old yesterday. As each month passes, her personality gets bigger and bigger and my heart just expands and expands. Her smile with her mouth-full of teeth and wrinkled nose always brings a smile to my face. Below are some pictures and tidbits about our LG ("Little Girl").

- According to babycenter.com, 90% of toddlers are walking at 15 months. Well, not mine! She is SO close. She loves to walk around (with assists from mom and dad) and she climbs on furniture whenever possible, so hopefully she'll take the leap of faith soon.

- The past month has been Taylor's worst health-wise. Now that she is going to daycare two days a week, her little immune system has been infested. She has been sick almost constantly since we went to Arizona last month. I miss my spunky little girl and hope she makes a turn for the better soon.

- Tay loves to hide fish crackers and her "little people." She primarily puts them in our couch cushions, but any compartment will work. Tommy and I laugh when we open a drawer and see her traces. The other day, Tommy went to put his shoe on and found a cookie monster figure in it.

- Whenever we feed Taylor yogurt or applesauce, she picks up other pieces of food from her tray and mixes them in the container. Today, she soaked her grilled cheese in vanilla yogurt and put chicken in her applesauce. Yum yum.

- She is starting to understand so much. The other morning, as I was getting her ready for "school," I asked her several questions. "Taylor, are you excited to go to school today?" She shook her head yes. "Are you going to play with your friends?" She shook her head yes. "Are you going to take a nap at school?" She shook her head yes. "Are you going to cry when mommy leaves you at school?" She shook her head no. Our conversation went on and on. When I dropped her at school that morning, it was the first time she didn't cry upon my leaving.

- Her newest words are "Whoa!" and "Hi!" So cute. I never realized how much I say "Uh oh" and "Whoa" until she started repeating me each time I say those words.

- Lovey and paci are still absolutely must-haves for Taylor to sleep. If we let her, she'd have her paci in her mouth 24/7. Since about her first birthday, we've initiated the "paci only in crib" rule. This rule doesn't always work, but it's a start! Taylor loves to rub her fingers in lovey's ears. She does this unconsciously while she is sleeping. I love that she's got lovey for comfort. Let's just pray that we never lose it (or our two backups).

- Taylor's hair is growing like weeds! I can almost pull the back into a ponytail, but that would look a little silly with the pony on top too. When Tay is in the bath, it is so cute to see her wet hair hang down her neck and onto her back.

- Current favorite foods include avocado, raisins, grilled cheese, pretzels (daddy got her started on these - hello sodium!), grapes, and broccoli. Interesting combinations, right?

Now on to some pictures. First, we have Taylor and Grandpa walking around on Easter Sunday.

I had to snap a picture of Taylor sleeping. I know all babies do this, but I just love how she sleeps with her legs underneath and her bottom in the air. Doesn't look very comfortable, does it? If you look closely, you'll see lovey snuggled up next to her. Jess, if you read this, note that the Dr. Pugh bear is in her crib too! Taylor insisted.

Bathtime has become a dangerous activity. Lots of rubber duckies to explore, although I do not condone standing in the tub.

This was an attempt to capture Taylor and her friends in a picture. If you read my blog regularly, you'll remember that I joined a mommy group last year. We still get together often, although our Girls' Night Outs (sans babes and hubbies) is our most regularly occurring event these days. Nonetheless, we have impromptu play dates and love watching our kids interact now!

"Daddy, let me come downstairs! I promise I'll slide down on my tummy."

All dressed up with daddy to watch BC win the Frozen Four. Between the Yankees winning the World Series in November, the Colts going to the Super Bowl in February, Butler going to the BB National Championship a couple of weeks ago, and BC winning the Hockey National Championship, it has been a busy sports year in the Bligh house. Taylor has lots of athletic gear!

Taylor and Uncle Brian sharing a moment together. They were fast buddies during his visit.
Big smiles while playing with Daddy.
Tay's new adirondack chair. We are ready for summer on our patio!
Blowing bubbles with Grandma. This is a new favorite pastime. We have to hide the bubbles when we're not prepared to take her outside or she will throw a fit.
I love this picture for several reasons. One, it is morning and Taylor insisted on wearing her coat over her pajamas. Two, she has lovey in her left hand. Three, she got soaked sitting in the dishwasher, but she loved exploring it.
