Whew! TGIF! The past week had been a whirlwind. Last Friday, Taylor and I few to San Francisco to visit my best friend Emily and her daughters Avery (4) and Isabel (2). Tommy left on Saturday for a week in Singapore for work, so I took advantage of the daddy/husband-free weekend to have some girl-time. Em and I have known each other since we were Avery's age. Sometimes that is hard to believe! I have met both of her girls and she has met Taylor, but this was the first time the girls met and played together. What a sight!
On Friday night, we met Uncle Brian (Tommy's brother, who lives in Berkeley) for pizza. Bri was such a trooper. I could tell he was overwhelmed as we waited for our table and the girls were running laps around the restaurant. Taylor was quite shy towards her uncle, but Avery fell in love with him. I wish we could have spent more time together, but just getting the girls to sit through dinner at a busy restaurant was feat enough.

Isabel and Taylor watching Elmo on my phone - it kept them quiet for about 10 minutes.
Saturday morning, Em and I took the girls to the "Little Farm." As you can tell, the girls loved feeding lettuce and celery to the cows. We also looked at the pigs, hens, and turkey. We capped off our outing with a nature walk. It is amazing how long it takes to walk a 1/2 mile when you're trying to corral three little girls.
Look how cute the three of them are holding hands!
Aunt Em showing Taylor how it's done. Mommy was a bit afraid of the cows herself.
A view of the cows from Taylor's perspective. Pretty intimidating, eh?

Our little hike
After naptime on Saturday, we headed to Six Flags. Em and I had to laugh because growing up, a trip to Kings Island was an all day (or all weekend excursion). Since Em lives about 15 minutes from Six Flags, it was a 2.5 hour excursion for us. Trust me, 2.5 hours is plenty of time for a four, two, and one-year old at an amusement park!
I love this picture with Em in the background!
Taylor's first roller coaster ride!
We capped off the weekend with baths, a Dora pajama party, church, and In & Out Burger (my favorite!), and then T and I headed home.
Since then - we have been down for the count. I started feeling bad last weekend but brushed it off as the dry air. Then, Taylor was up all night on Sunday night and had a 102+ temperature on Monday. I managed to drag myself to work but spent part of the day in the "wellness room." After Taylor spiked a 103.5 fever on Monday night, I opted to stay home on Tuesday. Tuesday turned to Wednesday to Thursday and now Friday. I have not left the house since Monday night! Keep in mind that my hubby has been out of town this whole time, and I have felt too sick to give Taylor the TLC she needed. Ahhh! I reached my breaking point yesterday after not sleeping for so many nights. Thank goodness my in-laws stepped in and took Taylor overnight last night so that I could get some rest.
After trips to the doctor today, Taylor has been diagnosed with a double ear infection and bronchitis and Mommy was diagnosed with a bad cold and sleep deprivation. The good news is that Taylor is on medication, Daddy's home from Singapore, and we have all weekend to recover. Never a dull moment!
On a side note, my other BF Sara delivered her twins yesterday! Tyson Erik and Reese Linn are healthy, and momma is doing well too. Vonder (aka Amy from college) had a little girl yesterday too - Lilah Jane. It is baby mania around here! Anyone know of a good website to put in a bulk order of baby gifts?
