It's safe to say my baby will be born tomorrow, 5/5/11. Yogi and I passed all of our tests on Monday. In fact, my fluid levels were above normal, so this little guy/girl is very happy in momma's belly. I never thought I'd have to wait this out until the proposed induction date, but once again, things are not in my control. Thank you, God, for that reminder and for your sense of humor. Ha ha ha.
There have been many moments over the past two weeks that I've wanted to throw a tantrum (just like my daugther does on a regular basis). It was painful to receive emails from baby websites that congratulated me on my new baby and then again to check in on my one-week old. It was painful to run into people and hear them say "You're still pregnant?" It was painful to hear about friends giving birth three weeks before their due date. It was painful to hear the grocery store clerk insist that someone push my cart out to the parking lot because I am so enormous. Regardless, the end is in sight. All I need to do is show up at the hospital and somehow push this large baby out. No sweat.
Tommy and I check in to Swedish Hospital at 5:00 tonight. Over the course of the evening, I will receive several "treatments" to soften my cervix (sorry if this is TMI). If this does not send me into labor on my own, then the nurses will start the pitocin drip early tomorrow morning. I will post a birth announcement as soon as I am able. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your calls, emails, texts, and most importantly, your prayers.
Mimi has been an absolute trooper during her 10 days here. I suppose if I have a third child, we will not plan for her to fly out until at least a week after my due date! The difference between the first pregnancy and this pregnancy is that Mimi has helped tremendously with Taylor while we wait for the new babe. Miss T has been a pistol (understatement), so it has been a team effort to keep her under control. Thank you, mom, for your help! Good luck over the next couple of days while you're on your own...
Now, just because I can, I'm off to get my hair highlighted and cut before the big event!
