Every time I look at my little guy, he is bigger and bigger. Since he started eating pureed foods, he has blossomed from an infant into a solid baby (or dare I say toddler?)! I just cherish these days and hate to see Matty growing so quickly. Gone are the days of letting him sleep in his swing or bounce in the bouncy chair. He barely fits in them any more. Bring on the exersacuer and obnoxious toys that sing, squeak, and light up.
Here are some pictures of our seven-month old:

Matty sits unassisted now. As of last weekend, he's started clapping too. He is very good at pushing up on his arms while on his belly, and he's even started to pull his knees underneath him. For a while we were calling his efforts "Operation Crawl by Christmas," but I am less optimistic now that Christmas is only two weeks away. We are still waiting on his first tooth as well. I can't tell you how many times I've said, "He has to be teething," only to be disappointed when those little buggers don't pop through. Everything goes in this kid's mouth!
Matty continues to eat anything we give him. Tommy and I laugh and laugh because his appetite is so much different than Taylor's was at his age. He eats all sorts of veggies and seems especially fond of peas, sweet potato, and califlower. He eats fruits but does not seem to care for them as much as veggies (with the exception of bananas). He has almost fully transitioned to formula too, much to momma's dismay. I am only nursing a couple of times a day now and expect to be done completely by Christmas. Supply could not keep up with demand! Now that he is eating twice a day and getting all the milk/formula he wants, he is packing on the pounds. I just love his rolls. I would leave him in a diaper/onesie all day long if it weren't chilly, just so I could look at his chubby belly and legs. I am already excited for his 9-month check up to see if he's climbed up the growth charts in weight.
It is safe to say that Matty is a momma's boy. He LOVES me, and I love it! No matter who is holding him, he lights up, kicks his legs, and flaps his arms when I walk into the room. I did not have this particular experience with Taylor, so I am soaking it in. Of course, his preference for mommy makes it difficult to do things (like cook dinner or use the bathroom) because he constantly wants me to hold him. Remember all that bragging I did in the early months about how easy-going he was? Not anymore!
Matty's vocabulary is pretty limited, as you would expect, but he likes to jabber in his own little language. He has the sweetest, deepest, little voice. Ba-ba-ba is a constant noise in our house. Between Matthew learning to use his voice, and his sister competing to be as loud as possible, our house is pretty chaotic/noisy these days.
We are loving every minute! Well, almost every minute. :)
