Lots to write about in the Bligh family. First and foremost, we have a five-year old now. Miss T turned five on Monday. In lieu of a traditional birthday party, Tommy and I took Taylor to Great Wolf Lodge for a little getaway. We left the boys with Grandma and Pop Pop for the night, and Taylor LOVED all of the one-on-one attention. Then, Taylor invited two little girls to go out for some pampering and lunch on her birthday. I got a babysitter for the boys and took Taylor, Lauren, and Aubrey to Starbucks, a kiddie salon, lunch at Panera, and then to dance class. I was absolutely exhausted by the end of the day. More on Miss T's birthday coming...
Matty has started going #1 and #2 on the potty! It is not a regular thing yet, but he has made big strides and even went at school last Thursday. On top of that, he has graduated to a big boy bed! He figured out how to climb out of his crib last week and started appearing in our bedroom, kitchen, and family room unannounced. So, Tommy and I took the front off of Matty's crib and installed the toddler bedrail. He is so proud. He wants so badly to be big! Tonight, as I was tucking him in for the night, he asked me to lay down with him for a few minutes. At first I refused (not wanting to start any bad habits), but then it dawned on me that I've never been able to lay with him in his bed before. So, I caved. We snuggled in his toddler bed for a few minutes and then he pulled my face toward him with both chubby hands and gave me a big kiss goodnight. I am so in love with that little man. Matty's common saying these days is "Mommy? You know what? You're the best mommy ever!"
Little B cut his 7th tooth this morning. He was up for at least two hours in the middle of the night last night, only wanting to snuggle in my arms. Momma was tired today. He is such a sweet little guy, though, that I treasure every moment with him, without the distractions of the other kids. I love watching him as he grows, especially now that he is trying to communicate. My favorite gesture of his is when he wants something - he will reach out his arm and open and close his right hand while screaming "ahhh ahhh!"
We are going to California this weekend for Uncle Brian's engagement party. I can't keep up with all of these activities! Away we go!
