B's First Day of Preschool

I mentioned in a previous blog post that Brayden is attending two schools this fall. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, he goes to Newport Covenant Christian Preschool where he has two coveted teachers: Mrs. Darcy and Ms. Aiti. Taylor had Ms. Aiti as a teacher four years ago, and Matty had Mrs. Darcy two years ago - so I knew Brayden would adore these ladies. I missed his first day of preschool on September 13th because I was in Baltimore for work, but Tommy sent me the most adorable pictures.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, Brayden goes to "Mrs. B's." Although he has told me a couple of times that he "does not want to go to Mrs. B's," he is usually just fine when I drop him off. This week, when I walked into Mrs. B's to pick him up in the afternoon, the only child I could hear downstairs was my son, just talking and talking to Mrs. B. She says that he is delightful all day and never whines or cries, so I am feeling really good about this arrangement.

I will confess that I am missing my nanny. It was nice to escape up to my office at 8:00 AM on the days she was here and not have to worry about the rest of the breakfast/lunch packing/getting dressed/getting to the bus and preschool routine. Even though I have childcare coverage five days a week, it is difficult to squeeze in all of my hours for work. But, this is still a new arrangement and I am working through the kinks.

More stories to come! There is lots going on around here. We are slowly getting into our new routine and everyone is finally adjusting.
