Would you believe there is another little boy in Matty's kindergarten class named Matthew B., and he also goes by "Mattie"? Much to my dismay, my little boy opted to go by "Matthew" so that they other little boy can stick with "Mattie."

Matty (he will always be Matty to me) is loving kindergarten thus far, but boy is he tired by the end of the day. There have been lots of bad moods at dinner and tears at bedtime. Otherwise, he seems to love school. It helps that he has a 5th Grade buddy named Elliot, whom he adores. They play wall ball at recess and sit together at lunch. After school, Matty loves to play football (it used to be baseball, but the big boys like to play what is in season) with Mikey, Tawann, Pravir, and James. Yesterday, he got off the bus at 4:00 and played up in the neighbors' cul de sac until 6:30! I told Matty at bedtime that I miss him so much. Just a few months ago, I had my little buddy at home with me from lunctime on, and now I am barely seeing him for dinner and bedtime.

I volunteer during Matty's library time every other Monday (and I volunteer for Taylor's class on the off weeks). I just love watching Matty interact with his classmates and pick out his library books. More importantly, he still walks up to me and kisses me! He is such a little lover.

Here's hoping his love of school continues to grow!
