My sweet momma turned 70 on October 14th. Midgey had been dreading this birthday, mainly because she lost her own mother at 76. We all tried our best to make her birthday extra special, and I think she loved it. I am so grateful I was able to celebrate with my mom on her special day.

My mom and I started her birthday weekend by our own little Happy Hour on Friday (we usually don't need an excuse for Happy Hour, though!)
|
After dinner at Tapatio, the Mexican restaurant by our house, we had oreo cake at home for M3 (Midge, Mom, Mimi).

On Mimi's birthday, we decorated the house, made her breakfast in bed, and gave her some silly presents. After some soccer games, Tommy and I left the kids with a sitter and took my parents and his parents to Woodinville for an afternoon of wine tasting. Above is a picture of my mom and dad at Chateau St. Michelle.

At the winery, we gave my mom an Awesomebox, which is a collection of cards and pictures from her friends and family. My dad and I worked hard to reach friends from high school, college, church, and beyond. About 45 people made cards for her. She was beyond touched, as you can see in the picture below.

After wine tasting at Chateau St. Michelle, Brian Carter, and Dusted Valley, we had dinner at The Commons. It was a great day.
