For the first time ever, my boys are playing on the same soccer team! Over the summer, I registered Brayden to play on the same rec soccer team that he played on last year. We really liked the coaches and Brayden enjoyed playing with this particular group of boys. When the coaches announced that they were going to "play up" this year, I jumped at the chance to register Matty as well. You see, for rec soccer, teams are formed by birth year, not grade. So, while Brayden is a 2012 birth year, his team decided to play up in the 2011 birth year... which worked for Matty to join the team. It's been really fun to watch the boys play together. I was worried that Matty might dominate the team and it would upset Brayden, but B has been proud of his big brother and loves playing with him. Last weekend, Matty scored a goal with an assist from Brayden. It was so fun!
There are still a few games left in the season. I am trying to soak it all in.
