We have a new driver in the house! Taylor got her Driver's Permit on 5/10 and she started Driver's Ed on 5/20. While she showed very little interest in driving prior to receiving her permit, she is now ALL IN. She wants to drive everywhere. We started with her driving in the neighborhood last Monday, and by this Monday, she was asking to drive to dance. It makes me very nervous when she is out on Coal Creek Pkwy and Sunset Blvd. This is a lot of traffic, and she has to merge over to a left-turn lane to access her dance studio's parking lot. So far, she has only been honked at once. ;)
I ordered some car magnets yesterday that say, "New Driver, Please Be Patient." Taylor will cringe when I put them on our cars, but it will make me feel better.
Driver's Ed is every Monday through Thursday from 4-6. It ends on 6/18, which is also her last day of school. It is a slog but at least she'll be done with the instruction part of the course by summer.
