Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! It has been a while since my last post because my computer has been with the Geek Squad at Best Buy. It has been two weeks and counting since I took it there. It was one thing to be without my home laptop when I still had a work laptop, but this is torture! I've pulled out my ancient laptop from business school, but it is so s-l-oooo-w. So, I apologize for not writing sooner.
Taylor is doing well. She continues to amaze Tommy and me on a daily basis. Her little personality develops more each day, and we are having so much fun. Today is a special day for a couple of reasons, the obvious being that it is my first Mother's Day since becoming a mother. Second, it was one year ago today that I found out I was pregnant. As Tommy and I were reminiscing about that day this morning, I realized that seeing the "+" sign on that pregnancy test was likely the most defining moment in my life thus far. Obviously, there have been a lot of defining moments in my life (remembering when the Challenger exploded, hearing about the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01, etc.), but learning that I was going to have a baby was MY most defining moment. I can still remember the feelings of shock, excitement, anxiety, and anticipation that I felt a year ago today. And now look at what I have...

When Taylor woke up this morning, Tommy went to get her out of her crib (he loves getting her up each morning and bringing her to me for "breakfast"). When he brought Taylor into our room, she was "holding" this card for me.

Inside the card was a nice note from Taylor and a gift certificate for a Mommy Massage. Thanks Tay (and Tommy)! You are too good to me. Below are a few more shots of our little pumpkin/stinker (Tommy calls her pumpkin; I call her stinker).

Taylor LOVES to chew on her fingers now -preferably all four at once!

All smiles before church

Tay's new favorite toy - she can sit up with an assist from this seat!

Look at her, sitting up like a big girl! I love it! Her sweet smile is so adorable, too. Can't wait to see her....and you, of course.....soon!
