A lot has changed for Miss T between months six and seven. Taylor is now eating solid food (including carrots, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas, pears, and avocado), although water is still her "food" of choice. She is also sitting up on her own. This has opened up a whole new world of opportunities because she can reach for things and roll all over the floor to get them. This is a somewhat inefficient way to move from point A to B, but it works for now.
Taylor has adjusted to her new bedroom, she no longer sleeps with her torso swaddled, and she likes to rest with her head on my shoulder (love that). One of the best things about the past month is that T is now consistently sleeping through the night. It is now the exception if I have to get up in the middle of the night to soothe her. Her bedtime is inching closer to 7:00 PM than 8:00PM , and she is starting to wake up closer to 6:00 AM than 7:00 AM. Who can complain about 11 consecutive hours of sleep? She is also napping really well - she typically naps twice a day, but only if she is in her crib. If we are out and about, forget about a nap! She is too busy taking everything in.
Tommy and I are having so much fun with our little peanut. Taylor has such a fun personality - she squeals all the time and has started blowing raspberries. You should see the look on her face when her daddy walks in the door from work each day. She lights up with this huge smile, and it just melts our hearts! We took her to her first Yankees game last weekend. She did pretty well, but I think her daddy enjoyed the experience more than she did. We have also seen a lot of friends for playdates and brunches, and we even hosted our first dinner party last weekend. Now that T is older and we are getting settled into our new house, I feel like I am getting my life back. Ahhh...
One last thing that I have to share. Last weekend, my parents had my extended family over for golf and a cookout. They called me via Skype, so I was able to videoconference with my whole fam, including my 86 and 88-year old grandparents. How cool is that? I am still blown away by technology these days. Can you imagine what my grandparents must have thought? To see their granddaughter and great-granddaughter through a computer monitor... even though we live 2,000 miles apart... for free? Amazing.
I'll leave you with some pictures. Taylor had some professional pictures taken a month ago. Hopefully, we will get those back from the photographer soon. In the meantime, we are enjoying the end of summer and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Mimi and Grandpa Mike next week!
This is what Taylor does when she is on her belly. Instead of propping herself up on her arms, she puts them out to her sides and does this "airplane" thing. No signs of crawling for now...
