Weigh In

As all of you mommies know, a child's car seat should remain rear-facing until the baby is a minimum of one-year old and 20 pounds. When Taylor turned one, she tipped the scales at 18 lbs, 3 oz. Now that she is 15 months old, I was almost sure that she had gained two pounds in three months. You should see this girl eat! During one of our doctor appointments last week, I asked if I could weigh her. I placed my sick baby girl, fully dressed with wet diaper, on the scale. Sure enough, she weighed only 19 lbs, 7 oz.

Maybe we can turn her around in the car by the time she is 18 months....

Little peanut.

In case you want some encouragement I turned both girls around at 12 months and they were only around 19lbs.

On the other side of encouragement, Keaton is 13months and well over 20lbs, as in close to 25lbs, and I still haven't turned him around. My pediatrician said "they" recently changed the guideline to "leave them rear-facing as long as you possibly can". So, I asked how I would know and she said keep him rear-facing until he is uncomfortable or fusses about it.
