Nummies and Boo Boos

Taylor's vocabulary continues to increase. Her newest favorite words are "Nummy!" and "Boo Boo."

Instead of saying "yummy," Taylor says "nummy nummy nummy" when she likes a certain food. She also says "nummy" when she is hungry. Just last night, Taylor woke up about 30 minutes after we put her to bed and started saying "nummy nummy." Tommy and I had just started eating our own dinner, so we brought her downstairs for a second dinner. She scarfed down a chicken breast and several servings of rice. I love that she is learning to communicate with people, as long as others understand that nummy = I'm hungry. You should see Taylor when I put ketchup into a bowl for her; she kicks her legs, waves her arms in the air, and repeats "nummy nummy" until said bowl of ketchup is placed on her high chair tray.

Now that Taylor is walking and climbing, she is learning more about boo boos. When I picked her up from school one night last week, she had skinned both of her knees. For the next several days, she was obsessed with looking at her boo boos. She would pull her knee up, kiss it, and then say "bye bye boo boo." I bought her Dora the Explorer bandaids yesterday. She was so excited... so excited that she threw a tantrum when I had to take the box out of her hands for the cashier to scan them. I'm sure she was pretty pumped to return to school today and show her friends the Dora bandaids on both knees.
