3rd Trimester

Well, the countdown is on. I am 31 weeks pregnant now, and boy do I know it! I am large and in charge. I suppose this is typical of a second pregnancy, but the aches, pains, fatigue, and swelling are in full force earlier this time. My belly is huge - in fact, I had two strangers ask me this past week if I am expecting twins. Thanks, jerks! It is almost embarrassing at this point to tell people I am due on April 25th because I am sure most of them are expecting me to say "any day now!"

Okay, aside from a little complaining, I'm doing well and feel pretty good. I had a little scare a few weeks ago when I failed my glucose test, but a more thorough test the next week cleared me of gestational diabetes. Whew! My weight gain, at 28.5 weeks, was 15 pounds. I find that hard to believe because I look like I've gained the same 31 pounds I gained with Taylor at 41.5 weeks. The next couple of months could be interesting...

The baby is an active little guy (or gal). I feel movement constantly! Taylor was most active at night between 8-10 PM (usually after my daily bowl of ice cream), but this baby is active all day and all night long. I hope this is not indicative of the type of sleeper he/she will be. Regardless, it is pretty darn cool to feel a little bottom or knee or elbow poking me in the rib or pelvis. It is clear that the little one is quickly outgrowing its home.

Okay, on to some belly pics. I must apologize because they are not attractive. I forget to have Tommy take them in the morning when I look somewhat "fresh." All have been taken as an after-thought at the end of a long day. But obviously, you should be looking at my swollen belly, not my smeared makeup, right?

27 weeks - 1/24/11

28 weeks - 1/31/11

30 weeks - 2/14/11
Most unflattering pregnancy picture ever - but you have to see how big I look from the front. Ugh!
Tommy, Taylor, and I just returned from a 10-day vacation in Arizona. It was great! I'll post pictures of our fun in the sun in the next day or so...
