Taylor's vocabulary continues to amaze me. She uses new words each day and I have no idea where she gets them. I wish I had absorbed as much as she does while I was taking Spanish classes in college. Below are a few of her phrases that bring a smile to my face.
Recently, Taylor has been obsessed with snakes. I have no idea where she gets this. So, it's prettty common to hear her say things like, "No snakes in my crib. No snakes in my diaper. No snakes in my mouth. Snakes outside."
While playing with her babies, she constantly says, "My babies nice and warm" or "My babies going nigh-nigh."
Whenever Tommy or I give Taylor food and tell her to be careful because it's hot, her immediate response is, "NO! It's warm." You have to see her facial expression and the movement of her hand above the hot food to fully appreciate this statement.
During our potty training conversations, Taylor says a lot of jibberish that typically means something like "I big girl go tinkle on the potty and then nem & em (translation: M&M)."
When Taylor is excited about something, so waves her arms in the air and shouts "Hooray!" or "So funny."
Tommy and I have been told by grandparents and our babysitter that when we're gone, Taylor walks around and says, "Mommy daddy be back in 5 minutes" or "Mommy daddy be back in 40 minutes." Not sure where the 40 minutes comes from?
When I make any sort of sigh, grunt, cough, or moan Taylor runs up to me, pats my back, and says "Mommy okay?" It is adorable. Last weekend, Tommy was cleaning out our attic, and everytime he set something down that made a noise, Taylor would run to the base of the stairs and yell up to him "Daddy okay?" So cute.
T also loves singing the ABC song or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star out of nowhere (today, she sang the ABC song through the grocery store). She has also recently started singing "The Wheels on the Bus."
Sadly, it is March, and Tommy and I are still singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" upon request before bedtime. Taylor loves these songs, and I don't have the heart to tell her they are out of season.
Taylor's most recent name suggestions for her baby brother or baby sister:
Baby Girl: Dora (shocking, right?)
Baby Boy: Frosty
I hope I can continue to record the cute things Taylor says. I know they will be long forgotten once she's really talking, but I just love the fragments and phrases she's using.
