Changes

Lots of changes in the Bligh house this week.

1. I finished my contract at GE Capital and am trying my hand as a SAHM (stay-at-home mom) again. Given that my 12-month contract wrapped up 7 weeks before my due date, there wasn't much thought given to finding another job right now.

2. Due to change #1 above, Taylor's last day of "school" was Thursday. It will be nice to have some quality time with my little gremlin before the baby arrives. I tried to explain to T that she would not be seeing her friends at school anymore, but who knows if she understood me. She brought home a binder on her last day filled with artwork, pictures, and notes. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to stop in from time to time and let her play with Gabbi, her BFF, as well as Avery, Clark, Guy, Zach, Lucas, and all the other boys in her class.

3. Thursday night marked Taylor's first night in her new bedroom (pictures below). So far, so good. The room is much bigger than her old room, and hopefully we did the move early enough that she won't associate the new baby as the reason she was kicked out of the nursery. We are shipping my childhood furniture here from my parents' house for T's new room. Sadly, it was picked up on 12/11/10, and as of last week, it was still sitting in a warehouse in Chicago. Argh. We went ahead and moved Taylor into her new room with just the crib, bookshelf, and glider/ottoman. Thus far, she doesn't seem to miss the dresser, nightstand, armoire, etc. My nesting instinct is definitely kicking in, and I'd love to get the furniture here ASAP. But, we were in a similar situation with furniture the last time around, and it all worked out. As long as Taylor is sleeping well in her new crib and new room, no complaints here.

After

4. Taylor had her 2nd haircut yesterday. It was just a trim, but the stylist cut about an inch off of the back. Her bangs are almost as long as the back now, so we're on track for a cute little bob cut in a couple of months.

I'll sign off now - Taylor just fell asleep after an hour of playing in her crib, so momma is going to try and catch some zzzz's too!
