Birthday Bonanza

Taylor's 3rd birthday will be memorable because we were snowed in for six days preceeding it! Had I known when I returned home from a Girls Night Out last Saturday that I would not be leaving my house again until T's birthday on Friday, I would have done my shopping ahead of time. Poor Taylor did not have many gifts to open on her birthday as a result. Fortunately, I had bought her a singing Cinderella card already, and that seems to be her favorite gift. Tommy and I found a few green and yellow balloons in my stash of decorations as well as a used "Happy Birthday" sign, so we were able to decorate a little bit before she woke up on Friday morning.

T's birthday was uneventful as a result. We spent the day waiting for more of the snow to melt so that I could venture out to pick up Taylor's birthday cake. The roads were still covered with snow and slush, so we changed our plan of going out for pizza and brought a pizza home instead. Miss T didn't seem to care. Grandma and Pop Pop also stopped by to see their birthday girl.

Sleeping Beauty birthday cake. Perfect for our small family celebration.

Taylor blew all of her candles out at once!
This morning, we hosted a party for Taylor at Dizzy's Bus Stop, a local play gym that caters to kids' birthday parties. Now that it's over, I have to say that it was worth every penny. We showed up with a cake, drinks, and paper goods, and they did the rest. They blew up balloons, set up the room, ordered pizzas for lunch, and facilitated the activities with the kids. Tommy and I were able to mingle and talk with all the parents and take pictures of our birthday girl. Taylor had a blast, evidenced by a 2.5 hour nap this afternoon.

She had 14 friends attend! Everyone was excited to get out after being snowed in for the week. The kids definitely released some built up energy!

Happy Birthday, Taylor (Matty jumped in the picture for a little airtime)

It was a great party!
