Busy Boy

Matty is a little man on the move these days. It is hard to keep up with him. Many of you will remember how slow Taylor was to crawl and walk, so even though Matty is reaching normal milestones for his age, he still seems advanced to me. My little man is such an easy-going guy. He spends most of his awake time eating, followed by playing and pooping. His nickname around the house is "Matty Poopy Pants." Matty rarely has just a wet diaper.The size and frequency of his bowel movements are amazing. Okay, new topic...

Matty is such a chill baby. When he plays, he self-entertains. It is awesome because I do not think Taylor did this. He will spend up to an hour crawling around the house, pulling himself up on chairs and tables, playing ball, babbling, and mimicking his sister. No mommy needed. He has also started waving. It's the cutest thing. He extends his hand out as if he's going to shake your hand, but then he opens and closes his palm. So, I guess it's more of a sideways wave.

Changing Matty's diaper is like trying to contain a wild animal... on a small changing pad. It's impossible. He is so strong that he'll flip onto his belly and start his escape within 0.5 seconds of being changed. I am usually sweaty by the time I get him dressed each day. And as you read above, I am changing a LOT of (poopy) diapers these days.

I hate that Matty's is two months shy of turning a year old. I just love love love this age. If only I could bottle this phase up or freeze time. I love his cute smile with two bottom teeth... his chubby hands and legs... his babbles.. the way he sleeps with his cute little bottom up in the air... seeing him standing in his crib as I walk into his room each morning... watching him wave at people... his innocense... his smell... his deep cry. Matty Bligh, to quote your big sister, "I love you all over the world!"

Be still my heart.

Role reversal - Taylor wanted to play in the exersaucer (while wearing her Cinderella dress) only because she saw Matty crawling over to it.
