We just returned from a long weekend in Arizona with my parents. Pictures and stories to come. First, I want to blog about my little girl because I am a proud momma. Those of you close to me know that the past few months have not been easy with Miss T. She is so strong-willed, opinionated, and fiesty that she has brought me to my wits' end on many occasions. However, I am slowly learning that there are benefits to having such a "spirited" daughter.
Over the weekend, we attended the Easter service at my parents' church. Their church is the most massive church I've ever seen. The facilities resemble a college campus. In fact, we had to take Taylor and Matty to two separate buildings for their respective child care. When we dropped Matty off, my sweet boy looked at me in horror and cried as someone took him from my dad's arms. When we dropped Taylor off, she bounced into the classroom, barely turning around to say goodbye. I love that I no longer feel anxious when leaving her in someone else's care (and I hope I get to that point with Matty someday). When I returned to pick her up an hour later, I found her sitting at a table with other little people, chatting away and eating a snack. She didn't jump up and run to me when she saw me... she just kept sitting there, eating and talking. One of the teachers walked up to me and said, "Taylor did very well today. She volunteered to say the prayer before snacktime." I was shocked! To not only volunteer to pray, but to do it in a room full of people she had just met, was surprising to me. I was so proud of my outgoing little girl. She still hasn't told me what she said, but I suppose she is going to withhold details from me for years and years to come. Regardless, I am thrilled that she is comfortable around other people. I hope she carries this confidence into adulthood.
