The baby of the Bligh family is still very much a baby, but I can feel time slipping through my fingers. I have already started packing away Brayden's newborn clothes. He no longer makes his newborn squeaks and rarely sleeps on my chest anymore. Sigh. On the plus side, Brayden is becoming more and more alert and his smiles are contagious. Even though Tommy and I are seeing these developments for the third time, they are still as exciting as the first and second times. I cherish those few minutes at night, after Taylor and Matty have gone to bed, when Tommy and I can gaze at Brayden in awe and enjoy our baby boy.

B sleeps ridiculously well in his car seat. He's been out on several dates with mom and dad for dinner and does not make a peep. We are taking full advantage of this until he's a bit older.

Bath time! Look at that acne.

My parents were in town last week. I walked downstairs one morning and saw this sight. It was as if Brayden were sitting up, intently listening to whatever my dad had to say...

A common sight - B in his bouncy chair, taking everything in.
A few comments/observations of B at two months:
- He has lost most of his hair on the top of his head. Strangely, he still has hair on the back of his head (I think it is more common for babies to lose hair there?). The jury is still out as to what hair color Brayden will have. At this time, we are guessing his color will be somewhere between Taylor and Matty's colors. Auburn? Dark blonde?
- Like his brother and sister, B has had a bad case of baby acne. He doesn't seem to care, but it is hard to look at.
- B loves to stick his tongue out. Sometimes he looks like a frog trying to catch a fly!
- Smiles started at six weeks. They make my long days and nights worth it. It's nice to start getting a little something in return.
- B is starting to morph into his look... he no longer looks like a newborn. Sigh.
- He loves to have his diaper changed. Most babble and smiles occur while naked.
- He is tolerant of his adoring sister and brother. God bless him. His siblings are in his face all the time. I've caught Matty trying to peel open his eyes while he is sleeping, and Taylor has no idea what personal space means. She puts her nose up to his and sings constantly.
- B is not the great sleeper that Matty was (I think Matty was sleeping through the night by now). There are nights when Brayden will get a 4-hour stretch in, but then there are nights when he's up every 2.5 hours. I am hoping for a surprise one of these days. I can hardly wait for six consecutive hours of sleep!
- As of yesterday, Brayden's stats were:
- Weight: 11 lbs, 11 oz (40th percentile)
- Length: 22.75 in. (45th percentile)
- Head Circumference: 15.25 in. (35th percentile)
- While we intended to call Brayden by his full name, his sister, without influence, calls him Brady. I must admit I've called him that a few times myself.
We love you, Brayden! Thank you for putting up with us these first two months.
