Multiple times a day, I think about sitting down and writing a quick blog post. There is so much going on in my house that I want to document, yet I cannot keep up with it all. Time is slipping through my fingers. I need a few extra hours each day. Sometimes at night, I will come downstairs after the kids are in bed and will plan on grabbing my computer. However, by the time the kitchen is cleaned and the laundry is folded and all the other odds and ends are done, I am fried.
You see, little Matty boy has experienced a lot of changes in a short amount of time, and the poor guy is not sleeping. When he is not sleeping, I am not sleeping! My ability to get a good night's sleep is directly proportional to his. Between sleeping in a new bed, giving up his pacifier, and being sick for several weeks, my once-sweet boy is a disaster. He is up several times a night. Most times, Tommy or I escort Matty back to his bed after he wakes us up, but there are also times when we give in and let him crawl into bed with us. Needless to say, we are creating awful habits and need to break them asap.
Yesterday, I hopped into a mattress store on a whim and ending up buying a full-sized mattress to convert Matty's toddler bed into a "real" big boy bed. The mattress was delivered that afternoon, and Tommy and I were hopeful that our little guy would sleep better last night. Unfortunately, he pulled his usual up, down, up, down, up, down, into our bed routine. Let's hope he learns to love his new bed really fast. This momma is tired!

| Here is an action shot of Matty rolling around on his new bed. |
Taylor and Matthew both started swimming lessons yesterday. They are in a class with only two other children, so I am hopeful that their progress will be more evident than Taylor's previous lessons at the YMCA. Taylor seemed to enjoy the lesson but Matty wanted nothing to do with it. He swam the width of the pool once and refused to get back in after that. In the meantime, Brayden was all about exploring the pool area and had me in a full on sweat during the class (it did not help that the pool is heated to 92 degrees and the room feels like a sauna). I vowed never to bring B back to class with me again because he is so inquisitive. There were so many times that I wanted to pick Matty up and hand him to the instructor (to force him into the pool), but I couldn't do it because it took every ounce of strength/energy I had to keep Brayden from doing a cannon ball into the water. The shower/get dressed part after the class was equally as fun - Matty came home in underwear and a sweatshirt only (because his momma forgot to pack him pants) and B's clothes were soaked from him trying to play in the shower.
Knock on wood, most of us are feeling better. Both Matty and I are on antibiotics for our colds. Taylor has been well-behaved lately, so I am counting my lucky stars for that. Now if only we can get Matty back into a good routine...
