The kiddos are growing up tooooo fast. There have been many developments just in the past week:
- Brayden now climbs out of his crib. He started climbing out of a pack-n-play while we were in Indiana (more on that later) and realized he can do the same in his crib when we returned on Wednesday. In fact, he is currently sleeping in Matty's bed because he escaped his crib and climbed in there last night. He looked so darn cute when I checked on him before I went to bed that I didn't have the heart to move him. Looks like we need to do some shopping for the boys' bunk beds soon. Matty has been sleeping in Brayden's room since my parents' visit in June, and I'd say they are enjoying it. Selfishly, I am excited to have a dedicated guest room and office.
- As of yesterday, Matty has woken up 20 times with a dry diaper! This is huge. Dare I say two of my three children are completely potty-trained? He is so proud of himself, as are Tommy and I. Tommy took him out for frozen yogurt yesterday to celebrate, and we let him go to bed in underwear last night. Here's hoping I don't have sheets to wash today!
- Last night, Brayden read the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?" to me. It was precious. I wish that crazy little guy would let me take videos of him, but he absolutely hates it when he sees the camera or video camera in my hand. I just love Brady's little voice and will have to commit it to memory because we have very little video of him at this age.
- Taylor continues to be oh-so independent. She picks out her clothing, does her own hair (which kills me because I could make it look so much cuter!), and loves to be given duties in the kitchen.
- Matty will play fake/imaginary baseball for hours on end. He loves to make the game up in his head, run through the house (running the bases), and gives me and Tommy constant updates ("Mommy, it's the bottom of the 6th inning and the Yankees are winning by one point.").
- Brady's vocabulary is growing and growing. It is funny to think that I was worried about his speech a year ago. He talks nonstop! He repeats everything I say, and he says the funniest things. Last night, at bedtime, I turned off the light and hugged him, and he said, "Now go mommy." Ha! My favorite words of his right now are pockisol (popsicle) and pampakes (pancakes).
