Baseball Buddies

The Yankees are out of the playoffs this season, but boy oh boy did Matty and Daddy enjoy watching baseball together this year!

 

 

I've asked Tommy to write about Matty and his amazing baseball knowledge. At 4-years old, he knows most of the rules of the game and knows many of the players (not just the Yankees roster!). It is really impressive. Most little boys his age are into ninjas and superheros; Matty is into baseball.

 

At Taylor's soccer practice the other night, Matty and I were playing baseball while the other moms/kids were talking/playing on the playground. I pitched a ball to Matty and he slammed that ball across the playground - the moms all looked at me in amazement. It is impressive to see how well and how hard he can hit the ball at age 4. More than anything, Tommy is really enjoying his little buddy during the playoffs! They snuggle on the couch, and Matty will sit and watch an entire game, asking Tommy questions the whole way through. As I've said before, Tommy could not have scripted this scenario any better. It's his dream come true - a son with a growing love of the same sport he loves.
