Daddy-Daughter Dance

Tommy and Taylor attended the Daddy-Daughter dance a month ago - it is held at Liberty High School (where our kids will go if we stay in this house) and all of the girls from the elementary schools are invited. How I wish my school had coordinated such an event for my dad and me!

This year, Tommy and Taylor carpooled with another family in our neighborhood - Brian and Julia Keyes. Julia and Taylor are great friends and play together often, and Brian and Tommy have become better friends as a result. Julia is one of four children: she has a twin brother, James (the twins are in 2nd grade with Taylor), an older brother Mikey (in 6th grade - this is the boy that Matty plays baseball with all the time) and an older sister Kaitlyn (in 8th grade - she is a serious soccer player and absolutely adores Brayden). The kids' mom Ruthie has become a friend of mine as well. We do a lot of carpooling with the girls!

During the Daddy-Daughter Dance, a group of moms went out to dinner. KK (Kaitlyn) babysat my boys at her house, so KK, Mikey, James, Matty, and Brady had a blast. As I said to Tommy that night, we may be entering a whole new phase of life here if we can send our kids to the Keyes' house and go out for dinner with Ruthie and Brian. :)

The dads took their daughters to the Golf Club at Newcastle for dinner before the dance. Tommy said that once they got to the dance, he barely saw Taylor. She was off running around with her friends, and the men huddle together and talk. There was a slow dance, a photographer, and some refreshments, and the dance was over by 8:00. So while it may not have been Tommy's favorite event of the year, it sure was Taylor's!

Ready to go!

Love them!
