Ready for Summer

It is June 23rd. My kids have four more days of school. They had to make up six snow days this year, so their last day of school quickly changed from June 19th to June 27th. On one hand, I do not mind this AT ALL, as it gives me a few less days to worry about childcare for the summer while I am working, but on the other hand, I am ready for a break in our busy schedule. I need a break from packing snacks and lunches as well.

In the past few weeks, we have run ourselves absolutely ragged with baseball games, soccer games, flag football games, dance recital pictures, Little League AAA tournament, dance recital dress rehearsal, Little League City Tournament, soccer end-of-season party, Liberty Select baseball tournament, two dance recitals, and more baseball games. On top of this, I am fried from coordinating class gifts for Brayden and Taylor's teachers (I am the room parent for both of their classes), the coach's gift for Brayden's soccer coach, soccer trophies, gifts for Taylor's Girl Scout leaders and spirit wear apparel for Matty's Liberty Select team. I have had so many people sending me money for all of these things that I need a part-time accountant to help me keep track. I totally understand why parents complain about all of the "End of School Year" stuff. It is exhausting. The good news is that I think I am done with most of my duties... but then I switch to coordinating registration for Vacation Bible Adventure at our church in July. I need to learn to say "no." No, no no!

Tommy was out of town the first weekend of June. That Saturday, I took a picture of all the things I had to do the following day AFTER teaching 2nd grade Sunday School in the morning. The day went smoothly, but boy, are my kids busy!
