Three Months Old

Our little pumpkin is three months old today! In some ways I can't believe "the fourth trimester" is over; in other ways I feel like I've known Taylor so much longer than three months. Tommy and I really enjoying parenthood. Taylor just gets more fun each day. I still look at her all the time and can't believe she is mine! Thank you God for our beautiful little girl.

At three months old, Taylor tips the scales at 10 lbs, 10 oz. She is pretty slender but long. Most of her three-month clothes look like capri pants on her long legs (she certainly didn't get this from her mom!) but are huge around the waist. She is generally a happy baby but lets you know if she is wet, hungry, or tired. She is also showing signs of a temper... I am hoping this is not indicative of her personality when she is older! For example, she hates being placed in her car seat. Usually, she cries when you put her in it, but after being fed her paci she settles down. Recently, she has begun stiffening her legs so that you cannot set her into the car seat. She just pushes her little bottom into the air and throws a fit. It is funny and scary at the same time. Taylor is not yet sleeping through the night, but I believe we are making progress slowly but surely. We usually put her to bed at around 8:00, and if she sleeps until 3:00, I am pretty happy! Many people have commented to Tommy and me that Taylor appears very strong and alert for her age. We are biased, of course, but we think she's pretty advanced! Her favorite place to be held is up on Dad's shoulder, where she can look over his shoulder and watch the world around her. Her smiles and squeals are the best!

Thanks for letting me gush about my daughter. I write a lot of this not only for the followers of my blog, but also for my own memory-keeping.

I am leaving Taylor for the first time this weekend. My girlfriend Jill's bachelorette party is in Chicago, so Momma Bligh is heading out for a girls' weekend with my friends from Butler. Of the 11 of us that have remained close since college, there are now 14 babies in our group. Jill (aka "Coors") is the last of us to get married, so this weekend will be one for the record books. Tommy will be on daddy duty. He is excited for daddy-daughter time, and I fully support it. Of course, I feel extremely anxious about leaving Taylor, but I hope the anticipation is worse than the reality of it. The freezer is stocked with breast milk, and I'll have my pump in tow. Boy, things sure have changed... but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Okay, on to some pictures of Taylor with her bear Chancey:
