Taylor Michelle was baptized at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue last Sunday. The sacrament went very well - Taylor was well-behaved, and the pastor even commented that she appeared to want more water on her head! Despite our daughter's good demeanor during the baptism, she was quite fidgety during pictures, so sadly, we do not have a good one of her in her cute little dress. Regardless, it was a special Sunday in our family! Following the baptism, we had brunch with Mimi, Grandma, and Grandpa.

Tommy and I were asked to choose a "life verse" for Taylor's baptism. We began discussing potential life versuses back in September after the baptism class (yes, we've been planning T's baptism for several months - we chose January to coincide with my parents' visit). We came up with a short list of life verses back then and decided to think/pray about them. Well, in November, I received the most beautiful piece of art from my best friend Emily and her mom, Sally. You can see it below. Ironically, the verse on this picture is one of the verses Tommy and I were considering for Taylor. Emily and Sally ordered this from a woman that creates a unique picture for each order, so it's not as if this piece of art is mass-produced and sold anywhere. Knowing that the artist specially chose this verse for my daughter is so meaningful. It won't surprise you that verse Tommy and I chose as Taylor's life verse is:
"Trust in the Lord in all your heart
And lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him
And he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6

And lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him
And he will make your paths straight."
