Exhausted

Happy New Year! We are finally back in Seattle and are utterly exhausted. We had a great time in Indiana, but our vacation was hardly a vacation. Between trips to Chicago, Louisville, and everywhere in between, we put almost 1,500 miles on my mom's car in two weeks. I have lots to write and many pictures to upload, but it will take me a few days to get my act together.

As always, Miss T was a trooper during our time in the Heartland. She dealt with the three-hour time difference, sleeping in various pack 'n plays, and seeing lots of new faces like a champ. I could tell by our last few days in Indy that she was at her threshold of fun. A trip to the doctor today revealed that she has an ear infection, so my focus over the next few days is to get my peanut back on track. Poor thing...

Taylor picked up many new tricks during our trip. She is crawling! After my college girlfriends saw her crawl on New Year's Eve, they proceeded to tease me that I could update the blog and document that she crawled in 2009. So there, girls! It is documented. :) Tay still army crawls as well, but she is definitely getting the hang of crawling. Additionally, she now loves to sit on her knees while playing with toys, sit in her "runner's stretch" position when moving from the crawling position to the sitting position, climb stairs (just a couple), point to things, and rest her head on mom's shoulder (which I love!) when she's tired. She cut her sixth tooth a week ago as well. I still can't believe she is almost a year old. She definitely looks more like a little girl now, especially after we visited so many new, tiny babies last week!

Today, I started T on whole milk. So far, her taste for it is no different than her general disinterest in formula. Urgh! I thought for sure that she would take more of a liking to milk. I guess it is still early, though. I am lucky if I can get 12 ounces in this girl a day even though her pediatrician recommends a minimum of 16. The good news is that Taylor is eating like a horse - this is nothing this girl won't eat. I am anxious for her one-year check up to see how much weight she has gained since her last weight check in October. She does not look petite to me anymore, so that has to count for something, right? She has completely outgrown her infant car seat (more due to her length than her weight), so I installed her convertible car seat today. She looks so much more comfortable now.

This is not my most riveting post. My apologies. More Indy fun to follow in a few days...
