Miss T's First Day of Preschool

Taylor started preschool at Aldersgate Christian Preschool today. She was so darn cute (and fiesty!). We have been talking about preschool for weeks, so she was very prepared and ready to go this morning. I tried to capture her first day of school on camera, but she was very opinionated and said at least 30 times, "NO PICTURES MOMMY!" (imagine teeth and fists clinched as she said this). Only after we arrived in her classroom would she allow a few candid shots. Sadly, I did not get a full-on "first day of school picture" of my little girl wearing her big 'ole Dora backpack. She let me leave her at school without a fight - there was no goodbye, no tears, nothing. She simply shrugged when I said I was going to leave. This was a much different reaction than when I first left her at daycare a year and a half ago, so I was pretty happy as Matthew and I skipped out the door. When we returned to pick her up, she threw a full-on tantrum in the classroom because she wanted to stay there and have lunch (the school has an extended-day option, which apparently I will be taking advantage of soon). I could only convince her to stop kicking and screaming by bribing her with lunch at McDonald's instead. So, all things considered, the first day of preschool was a success!

This was Taylor's reaction when I said I was going to leave - she turned around and played at the water table.  No drama for a change!
