I have been so proud of Taylor this month. She entered the "Terrible Two" phase a few months before she turned two, and it has been a rough year of tantrums, demands, outbursts, hits, and screams. Tommy and I marvel at our growing girl and don't want to wish any of this time away, but it has been tough. So that's why I have been pleasantly surprised at how well Taylor adjusted to all that's new in her world this month. She has taken to the nanny, Becky, very well, she has had no problems adjusting to preschool, and she is now potty-trained! Just a week ago, she woke up on Friday morning and said she wanted to wear underwear. Since then, she has not had ONE accident - not even during naps or nighttime! I am just shocked that she did it so quickly. Don't get me wrong, we have been working on this for months, but once her mind was made up, she was done with diapers!
Taylor is the cutest little mommy. You are probably tired of all the Baby Georgia stories, so I will spare you this time. However, she loves to help me with her baby brother. She will help me with almost anything. I laughed the other day as she took a wet diaper off of Matty, rolled it up the same way I roll up dirty diapers, and took it over to the diaper genie. She also loves to give Matty his paci when he is crying. She'll stand over him and "shhhh" him until he settles down.
She is also full of stories. This girl talks non-stop! Every day she says something that makes me laugh and I think to myself, "I have got to write this down!" Of course, now that I am blogging, I cannot think of anything specific to quote. Her memory is amazing as well. We were at a park this week that we had not been to since April when we met her friends Milo and Emery there. As we were walking toward the playground the other day, Taylor asked "Are Milo and Emery going to meet us here?" I suppose, at this age, her world is full of associations, but I find it amazing that she remembers people, places, and things from six months ago. When Becky took Taylor to preschool for the first time a couple of weeks ago, she got lost. Becky called me for directions and said that Taylor had said "Becky, you passed my school." I laughed and said, "Gosh, that has got to be a humbling experience when a two-year old tells you you're going the wrong way!" Indeed, Becky had missed the turn for Taylor's school. This was Taylor's third day of school and she already had the route down!
Okay, enough bragging from this proud momma. Taylor, thank you for easing mommy's transition back to work!
