Christmastime Fun

The Bligh Babes with Santa, 2012
The Christmas season was a bit of a blur this year. I did my best to do some fun things with Taylor and Matty, but those cut-out Christmas cookies were never made and the outside of our house lacked any Christmas lights. However, we managed to do a few fun things...

When Brayden was 10 days old, I ventured out to Bellevue Square (a huge mall that should be avoided at all costs during the holidays) for a picture with Santa. This was a huge feat, as it was the first time I left the house by myself with all three kids in tow. Of course, Tommy and his parents met me at the mall, so I had help from then on. Above, Brayden is dressed up to meet Santa.

Still in line to meet Santa - passing through his workshop.

Watching a Christmas movie on a lazy morning.

Big sis loves to hold her little brother (not sure that feeling is mutual!).

Father and son

The Santa Train - we took the kids on a train ride to meet Santa one Saturday morning. They loved it.

Mommy and Taylor (and Brayden) on the Santa Train.

We stopped for cookies and coco before seeing Santa.

Cuties

Matty was not so happy to meet Santa. Taylor asked Santa for a Jasmine doll (Aladdin) and a Fluttershy pony (My Little Pony). Of all the toys to ask for, those are the ones she wanted. Hmmm...

Big sis snuggling with her bro again.
Taylor and I went to see her dance studio's rendition of the Nutcracker. In Taylor's words, the performance was "fantastic!" I was worried she would get bored during the second half of the show, but T was mesmerized the entire time. Watching her sit up straight and clap with wild enthusiasm after each scene was adorable.

Taylor's preschool Christmas show. Her class sang two songs. The little girl in pink (with the halo) is Taylor's best friend at school, Lauren.

To get ready for Christmas, I took Taylor for her first pedicure. Above, she is picking out her color.

She loved the pampering. Uh oh. Maybe I shouldn't have introduced her to these so young?

The finished product - with flowers on her toes.

So, you can see that we didn't sit around the house all month. We did the best we could with a newborn to get out and enjoy the season with Taylor and Matty (especially Taylor - Matty doesn't really "get" Christmas yet).

Pictures of our Christmas morning chaos to come. Merry Christmas to all!
