There is so much to update and so little time to do it...
- Taylor went camping with her Girl Scout Troop for an entire weekend in mid-May. She had a great time, and I heard from all of the parent chaperones that she was a delight. This is another reminder that my girl is growing too quickly!
The Two Taylors
My Girl Scout camps never had view like that! - Brayden finished preschool on Thursday, May 25th. One more year of Pre-K and then my baby goes to kindergarten. Sniff sniff.
Brayden and the wonderful Mrs. Darcy
Brayden and Ms. Aiti - How we will miss her! - We spent Memorial Day weekend in Indianapolis with my family and friends - we celebrated Alexa's 18th Birthday, my 40th Birthday, and Alexa's high school graduation. We stayed with my best friend Sara and her family, and our kiddos had an absolute blast playing together. The parents had a blast too. :)
We took the kids to Carburation Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
I love this cousin picture!
Tommy, Sara, and Emily threw me a surprise party for the Big 4-0. I should mention that Emily was also a surprise for my birthday - she surprised me when I got off of the plane in Indy. So fun!
Race Day... and my 40th!
Memorial Day at SMAC's - Taylor finished her softball season last Monday (6/12). I missed the game because I was traveling for work. She had a double that night and was a clutch hitter this season. I love to watch her play because softball is something I was never brave enough to try!
Look at this action shot!
The Purple Lions 2017
- Matty's baseball team is in the middle of a double-elimination playoff tournament. They have played three games so far and have won every game! I missed the first two games last week due to my work trip, and I anxiously waited for text message updates. I could not believe how nervous I was about a Little League game. While Matty had a tough season and struggled to make contact with the ball, his swing has really improved and he has not struck out once during the tournament! In fact, he scored the winning run in the first tournament game. Both Tommy and Matty are having a blast. The next game is Thursday. If the Orioles win, they win the playoffs. If they lose, they will have to play again on Saturday. Even Taylor said that she does not want to go to dance on Thursday because she wants to watch Matty play.
The Orioles 2017
Matty and the Beppu Boys (Chance & Kyler) - My baby girl got an expander last Friday (6/16). I hesitated to start her in orthodontic treatment so young, but after getting a few opinions, I was convinced that she needs the expander to correct her cross-bite. The poor girl has no room in her mouth for one of her front teeth to come in, so we'll see if the expander creates some space and corrects the cross bite. Taylor groans every time I turn the key. She talks a bit different and has trouble eating (food gets caught between her expander and the roof of her mouth). Let's hope the expander does the trick in just a few weeks of turns.
I took this picture at breakfast after Taylor got her expander. Let's hope the "after" shot looks a lot better! - Today (6/19) was Brayden's last day at Mrs. B's. She has been such a blessing to me this year. Brayden most often complains about going to her house but then he never wants to leave when I pick him up. He's a crack up.
- Tomorrow, Taylor finishes 2nd Grade and Matthew finishes Kindergarten. Sniff sniff again! The kids go to school for a whooping 2.5 hours in the morning, and then we will celebrate with a school picnic at Lake Boren Park in the afternoon.
- On Thursday, my summer nanny starts. Carolyn lives one door down and used to babysit for me when she was in high school. She will be a senior at Washington State in the fall. She's spending her summer working for her dad, studying for the MCAT, and watching my kiddos two days a week.
