October 2018

What a month! Tommy and I spent nine days in Europe (thank you, Microsoft), my parents came for a two-week visit, the kids had two soccer practices and one soccer game each week, Taylor's dance schedule takes her to the studio 4-5 times a week, and there are tons of other things that keep us busy from dawn to dusk.

But then I hear of heartbreaking stories like the one I heard last night - three children in Indiana (ages 6-9) were killed by a truck while getting boarding their school bus. OMG. It just makes my heart bleed. I cannot fathom, nor can I allow myself to wonder, how their parents are doing. I just cannot go there. My children are my life. They are my heart and soul and I cannot imagine having them taken from me so soon.

So with a grateful heart, I will thank God for these sweet kiddos and vow not to take one day for granted. They are growing far too quickly, and I really want these years to slow down. I am LOVING this phase. The kids are more independent yet they still need me. They have social circles yet they do not have phones and I know where they are when I go to bed each night. They still want to be around me and Tommy. They still (for the most part) respect what we tell them. I still look at them each day and marvel that they are mine! I am beyond grateful that I get to be their mommy.

Monaco was amazing!

A highlight of our trip was going to Eze, France and enjoying the amazing views.

Glorious!

Celebrating Mimi's 71st Birthday!

I love this picture of my dad hanging with the kids (Tommy, Mimi, and I were at the next table drinking wine).

I took the kids to a pumpkin patch, Mavis Farms, on a glorious fall afternoon.

Even Annie got to play at the farm!

Trying to recreate the cow train picture that we took of these boys five years ago...
