Heart Throb

Matty is quite the ladies man at school. The funny part about this is that he has ZERO interest in girls, but the girls certainly seem to have an interest in him. During a Girl Scout camping trip last weekend, his name was the topic of conversation among the 2nd grade girls. Two of the mom chaperones on this trip pulled me aside this week to tell me about it. One friend told me that her daughter Braelyn asked her to pull up a picture of Matty and her that I took during VBA over the summer. She proceeded to stare at the picture of them (I included it in this post) during the drive home. Another girl, Morgan, asked her mom if they could have the Bligh family over for dinner sometime. Her mom, Allison, has reached out to me a couple of times and we are trying to get a date on the calendar. Whenever I see Morgan at school, she asks me if we've settled on a date. Matty then jumps in and tells her that it is not a play date if the whole family is included... I suppose she is telling her friends that she's going to have a play date with Matty? Regardless, I think the whole thing is pretty darn sweet and cute.

My Matty. How can the girls have such a fascination with him when he dresses like this for school? Long-sleeved athletic shirt covered with short-sleeved athletic shirt, tights with a hole in the knee, athletic shorts, socks pulled up too high, and usually a necklace and a hat!

But then again, I see this sweet boy helping me carry coffees and my heart just melts.
