On June 8th, Taylor started a Partial Hospitalization Program at the Eating Recovery Center in Bellevue. She will be there 8-9 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is going to be a brutal summer, but it is of the upmost importance that Taylor overcomes this eating disorder. The past ten days have been a roller coaster. I have shed many tears as I've watched Taylor "go to battle" (or jail, as she calls it) each day. She was very upset with me and Tommy for the first few days and barely spoke to us. She also refused to eat dinner when she would come home in the evenings because she had been "stuffed like a pig" during treatment each day. After the first week, she managed to lose weight. Tommy and I had a meeting with her treatment team and discussed possible hospitalization (or admission to the residential program) if Taylor does not start gaining weight. Since that meeting, Taylor has been eating dinner but it is ALWAYS a battle. The amount of anxiety I feel as I prepare dinner every night is off the charts. I pray this will get better over time, but we are in the thick of it right now.
More to come about Taylor's journey when I have the emotional capacity to write about it.
