Happy 2011! We rang in the new year with a small, kid-friendly party at our house. Sadly, our plan was to celebrate at midnight Eastern time (9:00 Pacific time) and call it a night. In our defense, two of the three couples that came over had newborns (one born 12/15, the other born 12/22) and the other couple has two children with a third on the way. So, this was not intended to be a rockin' NYE. However, our power went out at 7:00 (thank goodness we had already fed the kiddos) and did not come back on until 11:00. So, we celebrated the new year like the olden days - we made a fire and lit candles. Pretty lame, but fun to spend it with friends!
