Oh, Taylor...

It has been chaotic around our house in the past week. We are having our roof replaced, we hosted two dinner parties, the Butler Bulldogs made it to the Final Four (and now the National Championship Game) AGAIN, and dare I forget to mention that Opening Day of the 2011 baseball season was last Thursday? Needless to say, I am ready for things to slow down just a little bit as we await the birth of our 2nd child. One thing that will not slow us down, though, is Miss Taylor Bligh.

It is a regular activity of Taylor's now to wake up, unzip her jammies, pull off her diaper, and then potty in her crib. Awesome. I am so tired of washing her bed linens! Whenever I ask her why she does this, her answer is "There were tinkles in my diaper." Yeah, no kidding. And now there are tinkles down your legs, in the feet of your pajamas, in your crib, and on your blankies. Oy! While it is great that she recognizes there are tinkles in her diaper upon waking up, she still shows no interest in using the potty during the day. I am bribing with M&Ms (and I will give her one just for sitting on the potty!), and last week we made a special trip to Toys R Us to buy her a toy for the potty. Shockingly, she chose a Dora toy, and she is only allowed to play with it when she sits on the potty. This entertained her for two days, but she's moved on now. Last Thursday, both Tommy and I were home when our doorbell rang. Tommy was watching the Yankees' home opener, so I grabbed the door. It was our roofer, and I talked to him for about 10 minutes. Once I closed the door, I realized Taylor was no where to be found and was being especially quiet. I found her upstairs, in her bathroom, with the door closed. She had pushed her step stool over to the sink, grabbed a TON of toilet paper, and was playing with it in the sink. Of course, the toilet paper had dissolved in the running water and proceded to clog our drain. There was a ton of water standing in the sink. Taylor was having a blast playing with her new "water table." So, by turning my head from this little munchkin for 10 minutes, she created a nice, long evening project for both Tommy and me. We had to completely tear apart the sink in that bathroom to pull out all the TP.
Taylor just woke up from her nap, and I am listening to her count to ten in Spanish through the monitor right now. I need to get a video of this.
So, that's the latest and greatest happenings in our house. My 37-week appointment is tomorrow; I will update the blog if there is anything newsworthy to report.
