The Waiting Game...

I'm still here.  I am still waiting on our little munchkin to arrive.  Boy, does this bring back painful memories of the 10 days I was late with Taylor.  I suppose my body's gestational period is longer than most?  I was 40 weeks pregnant on Friday.  My OB adjusted my due date to 4/25 after an early ultrasound given that I was so late the last time.  I thought this would help me mentally prepare, but sure enough, I still counted down the weeks to the 40-week mark on Friday.  So, even though I am not overdue yet according to the doctor's records, I am overdue in my head.  Fortunately, I am not uncomfortable.  I'm just antsy with anticipation.  Oh yeah, and being able to sleep at night would be nice... at least I am getting a head start on my Easter morning with some cereal and blogging (at 5:30 AM).

I will post Easter pictures soon.  The Easter bunny visited our house for the first time last night.  It will be fun to watch Taylor look for Easter eggs throughout the house in an hour or so.  We'll head to church and brunch later this morning, and hopefully I'll have time for a nap before Easter dinner at Tommy's parents' house.  The biggest excitement of my day, however, is Mimi's arrival tonight.  Hallelujah!  My reinforcement is on her way!

I anxious as I am to meet my baby (and learn if it is a she or he!), I am very nostalgic of my last days as a family of three.  Taylor has been such a blessing to us.  Even at 27 months old, Tommy and I routinely go into her room and watch her sleep at night.  It makes me sad to think I'll likely be doing more of this with the new baby going forward.  My little girl is growing up.  She is already calling herself a big sister, and watching her play with her babies is absolutely adorable.  Just last night, we were at our friends' house for dinner, and they have a 4-month old.  Taylor sat beside her the entire evening.  If she needed to get up, she would say "Don't cry, Baby Clare, I'll be RIGHT back."  Precious.

Happy Easter, everyone!
